From strangers to soulmates

It started with a spilled coffee at a bookstore in downtown Portland. What could have been an awkward moment turned into a two-hour conversation about books, travel, and our shared love of the ocean.

Eight years, countless adventures, and one cross-country move later, we’re ready to start the next chapter — together.

  Met at Powell’s Books — Michael’s coffee found Sarah’s notebook.

• 2021

  First trip together — a week on the Oregon coast. We never looked back.

• 2023

  Moved into our first home — a fixer-upper with a big backyard and bigger dreams.

• 2025

  Proposed at the same bookstore where we met. She said yes (with tears).
